Fall 2025 Season Wrap Up

Fall 2025 was a terrific season for RBYS and its teams, players, coaches, trainers, managers, and families.  We had 20 teams, featuring over 250 players across the U8 through U14 age groups, as well as over 100 participants in our Pre-Travel program.  Our high school players excelled for their school teams, including our Blind Brook High School Girls Varsity, made up entirely of RBYS alumni, winning their first Section 1 championship in 25 years.

In the WYSL, our teams continued to perform well, including notable results for the Boys U12 Rush who competed at the top level - WYSL Premier - where they finished in 2nd place in a very competitive division with a 4-3-1 record. Great work, Rush!

On the girls' side, the Girls U11 Empire led the way in Division 2 posting an impressive 8-1-1 record, scoring 36 goals in 10 games while only giving up 13 all season. Go Empire!

In our younger age groups, we had strong results across the board, including the Boys U9 Metrostars who went undefeated at 10-0 with 55 goals against only 15 conceded, and the Girls U9 Sparks who went 7-3, scoring 45 goals and yielding only 25.

Finally, we want to congratulate RBYS alumna Kayleigh Curran, captain of the 2025 BBHS Girls Varsity, who was chosen by the New York State Sportswriters Association to its All State Second Team, the first BBHS girls soccer player to achieve all-state recognition in recent memory (in addition to being named to the Section 1 "Elite 12," All Section, and All League teams).  Kayleigh reflects the very best of RBYS and her story is instructive for all our players

Kayleigh was assigned to the "B" team for her first two seasons with RBYS. During those two seasons, she practiced hard with her teammates, coaches, and trainers and had the opportunity to develop her skills while getting meaningful time "on the ball" during games.  By the time she reached U11, she was placed on the  "A" team and  became a key member of a team that would go on to win three WYSL championships, including two at the Premier level. She enjoyed a decorated high school career, culminating in this year's Section championship and All State recognition.  Kayleigh is going to continue her soccer career next season playing for the Carnegie Mellon University Women's Varsity team.

Kayleigh's RBYS "career" illustrates that players develop and improve at different rates and shows that no matter where your youth soccer journey begins, it can end at great heights.

Thanks, as always, to all of our Coaches, Trainers, Managers, Parents, and Players for your continued dedication and support.  Enjoy the rest of the summer and we'll see you again soon!
