RBYS Clinics

To help our kids improve their soccer skills beyond practice and game times, we are again partnering with Red Bull Training and investing in the voluntary Red Bulls run clinics this season.  Clinics will be offered at Crawford Park and King Street.  Clinics are open to ages U9 and up.

Clinic Sessions run from April 4 through June 15

Festival Clinics

Rye Brook Festival Clinics provide an environment for players to express themselves in competitive small sided games. These will focus on different aspects of the game with a topic introduced each week. Depending on the age, the topic will vary from simple to complex. The festival is open to players from U9 and up. Is fun and competitive.

  • Attacking 1v1 Moves -Week 1 and 2
  • Role of the 1st attacker- Week 3
  • Role of the 2nd attacker- Week 4
  • Passing- Week 5 and 6
  • Receiving- Week 7
  • Role of the 1st Defender- Week 8
  • Role of the 2nd DefenderWeek 9
  • Shooting and finishing- Week 10 and 11

Skills Clinics

These clinics will have more focus on a specific technique, but with an adjusted approach based on Rye Brook players' needs and abilities. It will bring an extra layer of training that will certainly benefit the development of all registered players. Clinics are divided in age group, like you see on the chart above.

  •  First touch- Week 1 and 2
  •  Moves- Week 3, 4 and 5
  •  Turns and stop/ starts- Week 6-7
  •  Changes of direction (static)- Week 8
  •   Changes of direction (dynamic)- Week 9
  •   Shooting and finishing- Week 10 and 11

Developmental and Advanced Goalkeeping

Developmental Goalkeeping is a program made for the basic needs of a player that wants to be a GK and doesn't have much experience in the position. Goalkeeping is a specialized position that requires different skill sets and continual training.   The session will run Saturdays at 10:30, for an hour and 15 minutes. The curriculum will be develop in the next topics:

  • The Savable Arc/ Basic Handling- Week 1 and 2
  • Attacking the ball/Angle of approach- Week 3 and 4
  • Shot Stopping (Positions)- Week 5 and 6
  • Goal Kicks, Corner Kicks and Free Kicks- Week 7 and 8
  • Distribution- Week 9,10 and 11

 

Advanced Goalkeeping is a program made for players that are used to playing GK in their team and want to advance in their training. Is a more competitive program than the basic one. Goalkeeping is a specialized position that requires different skill sets and continual training.  Open for U11 and up. The session will run Saturdays at 10:30am, for an hour and 15 minutes.
